Why I'm building IKARUS

I want more time to learn, build and live. Yet so much of a day can disappear into organising the work: finding a note, remembering the next step, moving between apps, or explaining the same project to an assistant again.

I started building IKARUS at the beginning of June. I'm building it independently, starting with the Mac. It brings projects, goals, notes and daily priorities into one place, so less of your attention goes into keeping track of everything.

My vision

A computer that helps you move your life forward, and leaves you more time to live it.

I want IKARUS to understand the work around a question: what you're trying to achieve, where you left off, and what would make the next step easier. Over time, that means an assistant that can help you plan, carry out useful work and take care of repetition, with permissions you control.

That should serve your whole life. A project you're building, something you're studying, a habit you're working on, and time with the people you care about all deserve room in your day.

What that means for the product

The everyday tools should be useful on their own. Free gives you space to organise your work without AI. When you want an assistant, you can choose local AI, your own provider, or a plan with cloud AI included.

Your workspace stays on your Mac. You choose what the assistant can access and do, and cloud AI uses the context needed for the request. Your work remains yours to read and export.
