The first browser pass is working. IKARUS can read a page, click, fill in forms, navigate, follow new tabs and check when a download finishes.
You hand over a tab explicitly. The assistant doesn't get to pick one from your browser on its own, and it checks the tab again before acting so it doesn't carry on in the wrong place.
I tested the flow in a real browser over several passes. That caught things the smaller tests hadn't, including a background worker that failed to start working again after being revived. There are always a few details you only find by trying the whole task.
