Some people already have an API key. Some want everything they can run locally on their Mac. Others just want to open the app and get on with their day. IKARUS needs to make room for all three.
I'm putting four plans together: Free for the everyday tools and basic chat with your own key; Local for the fuller toolkit with Ollama or your own key; and Pro and Max with hosted AI included. Bringing your own key will stay an option on every plan, including Free. Paying for Pro shouldn't take that choice away.
The other part is making the cost understandable. Pro and Max have a defined AI allowance, and extra usage is prepaid. When that balance runs out, hosted AI pauses. Your work stays there, and you can use your own key or an eligible local connection. There shouldn't be a surprise bill waiting at the end of a busy week.
These are the plans for the public release, not an announcement that paid access is live. Payments, the Mac download and the full first-run experience still need their release checks. In the meantime, I've put the prices and credit amounts in one place so you can see exactly what I'm working toward.
